Sifu Ron Shewmaker Bio

It began when Jim Anestasi found and persuaded Sifu Ark Wong to teach him Kung Fu. This was in 1958. Ron Shewmaker joined shortly thereafter. Before the official opening of the Wah Que Kung Fu Studio on Ord Street in China Town Los Angeles, Jim Anestasi and Ron Shewmaker trained with Sifu Ark Wong. These training sessions took place in the back room at Sifu Ark Wong's store and in an old parking lot off the beaten path in China Town. In 1960 Sifu Ark Wong leased the building on Ord. Jim Anestasi and Ron Shewmaker helped Sifu Ark Wong set it up and run it. Sifu Ark Wong named it the Wah Que Kung Fu Studio - Wah Que means Chinese American. Jim Anestasi and Ron Shewmaker helped Sifu Ark Wong run it till for over 10 years.
